How to prepare

  • Easy rider or alone: with no valid motorcycle licence and no mountain experience, an easy rider is the right choice.
  • From Hanoi: sleeper bus or limousine van to Ha Giang, often overnight, with a night there before setting off.
  • To bring: cash, a warm layer, a raincoat, a head torch.
  • Season: avoid rainy July-August. Buckwheat flowers bloom in October-November.
