Updated 3 November 2026 · 3 min read
In short
To visit the caves, stay in Phong Nha village (Son Trach), near the boat pier: restaurants, bike hire and tour departures are all there. For peace, choose a farmstay in the Bong Lai valley. Dong Hoi, about 45 km away, is only useful for an early flight.
